Green Infrastructure Studio

In light of the repurcussions of Sandy in New York City, both in terms of direct effect, and as a potent indicator of what the future may hold, we will be focusing on one particularly impacted waterfront neighborhood in Brooklyn, Red Hook. The studio will investigate how green infrastructure can offer design based solutions to a challenging but increasingly frequent condition. Policy issues, best practices, experimental alternatives, and community outreach will be investigated, and articulated through the design work.

The Green Infrastructure Design Build Studio 2014 is an annual course now in its fourth year, taught by visiting assistant professors Elliott Maltby and Gita Nandan.  To see the work of previous studio, follow these links :
